I take the protection of your data seriously. This notice describes which data are processed when you visit this website, for which purpose and on which legal basis.

Visiting this website

When you open the website, your browser transmits technically necessary data to the hosting provider: IP address, date and time, the file requested, the status code, the referrer and the browser identification. These data are required in order to deliver the page and to keep operations secure. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The server logs are deleted after a short period.

Enquiry form

If you use the enquiry form, I process the details you enter in order to answer your enquiry and prepare a proposal. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR (steps preliminary to a contract and performance of a contract) together with your consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Your details remain stored until the correspondence is concluded; the statutory retention periods for business records apply thereafter.

Email correspondence

If you write to me directly, I process your email address and the content of your message in order to reply. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) and (f) GDPR.

Cookies and audience measurement

This website sets no cookies, neither for advertising nor for analysis, and embeds no advertising network. No profiles of your behaviour are created. I do, however, count how often a page is viewed, and I do so without cookies through Vercel Web Analytics. What is counted is set out below under recipients.

Fonts and external content

The typography loads fonts through Google Fonts and Fontshare. In doing so, your IP address is transmitted to the respective provider. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. Links to goodsouls.AI, cuibono.ai, Substack and LinkedIn lead to external services with their own privacy notices.

Recipients and processing on my behalf

I pass your data on only to service providers that are necessary in order to operate the website and handle your enquiry. Data processing agreements under Article 28 GDPR are in place with them:

• Hosting and delivery of the website: Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA. The servers that process your form enquiry are located in the Frankfurt am Main region. For transfers to the United States, Vercel relies on the EU standard contractual clauses.
• Dispatch of the enquiry email and administration of your contact details: Sendinblue SAS, trading as Brevo, 106 boulevard Haussmann, 75008 Paris, France. Processing takes place within the European Union.
• Audience measurement: Vercel Web Analytics, operated by Vercel Inc. Page views, country of origin, the referring link, device class and browser are counted. No cookies are set and no identifiers are stored on your device. Individual people are not recognised across visits or across other websites. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR; my interest is to learn which content is read.

If you use the WhatsApp link on the enquiry page, you leave my website. WhatsApp opens only once you click, and only then does the operator, WhatsApp Ireland Limited, learn of your contact with me. The WhatsApp privacy policy applies to messages within WhatsApp. No WhatsApp component is embedded in my website, so nothing is transmitted as long as you do not click. If you wish to avoid this, write to me by email or through the form.

When you submit the contact form, your details are processed for two purposes: as an email to me so that I can reply to you, and as an entry in my contact administration at Brevo so that I can trace the course of our correspondence. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(b) GDPR for handling your enquiry and Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for orderly record-keeping. You may object to storage at any time, and I will then delete your entry.

Your rights

You have the right of access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. You may withdraw a consent you have given at any time. To do so, please write to office@sophisticated-simplicity.com. Complaints may be addressed to the Austrian Data Protection Authority, Barichgasse 40-42, 1030 Vienna.
